Pole Dry. Vines climbed neatly to 8 feet and produced white flowers. Pods were green, 5 inches long, flat, and slightly curved. The beautiful large white beans are originally from Soissons, Aisne, France and are famous throughout the country. Seed donor is Joseph Simcox 2013.

Pole Dry. More Robert Lobitz beans in this long vining bean. I tried growing like a bush one year and it developed such a long vine I figured it must be a pole variety. Seed Savers Exchange listed it under bush dry beans in 2016 from which I got it from. Perhaps I made a mistake about it's growth habit and it was actually a nearby bean that put out all the vine. Perhaps another grow out will tell for sure.

Pole Snap. An Italian heirloom. Green Romano pods. It’s been said that the pods stay tender and sweet longer as the beans lengthen from six inches to eight and sometimes ten inches long. The seeds of this bean are good in dry use also. My seed donor is Peter Murphy of Kingston, Massachusetts. Peter says he acquired them from a Gordon Brown in California who states they came from a farmer in Italy.

Bush Snap. The pods develop more deeply pink shades in direct sun, while the pods shaded under foliage are more blushed. Pods Borne in clusters near the top of 24 inch tall plants. Introduced by Dan Jason of Salt Spring Seeds. An apprentice named Tanya discovered the original pink podded plant while working in a row of purple Sequoia beans. Can also be used as a dry bean. Purchased from Annapolis Seeds Novia Scotia, Canada 2012.

Pole Lima. When Former long time SSE member Tom Knoche of Sardinia, Ohio passed away in 2013. His wife gave away his freezer bean collection to Glen Drowns of Sandhill Preservation Center. When the collection was picked up and gone through this lima was found. Perhaps it didn’t have a name and since the bean is about half red and white. Glen probably named it Tom’s Divde and I bought a packet of the bean in 2018.

Pole Dry. This is the rare heirloom bean that was rediscovered by celebrated bean collector, John Withee of his "Wanigan Associates" bean network fame. He searched for 11 years for this bean after reading about a "Red Cranberry" bean in a 1700's gardening encyclopedia. He finally discovered it growing on a Mr. Taylor's farm in Steep Falls, Maine. My seed donor is from Potter Valley, California 2013.
